Double the Data Transfer Rate at Long-Distance Cycling Event

Renta 2-Way, a Melbourne-based communications rental company supporting events up to 171 km, faced dropped links and insufficient throughput from its existing 900 MHz ISM radios during a long-distance cycling event. To meet growing real-time communications needs over non-line-of-sight paths, they turned to Cambium Networks and its cnReach™ IIoT platform (N500 ISM radios) for a higher-throughput, same-band solution.

Cambium Networks deployed cnReach N500 radios to link the two main sites, integrating seamlessly into Renta 2-Way’s managed IP network and adding a full-featured IP console. The N500 links delivered an 8x throughput increase, doubled data transfer rates, supported 400+ subscriber units at the event, and improved speed and latency—results that persuaded Renta 2-Way to expand use of Cambium Networks’ N500s for future events.
