Digicel Business faced the challenge of connecting Papua New Guinea’s Department of Education head office with regional offices serving more than 10,000 schools across extremely remote, roadless terrain where administrators and teachers lacked reliable communications and access to essential systems. To meet this need, Digicel Business partnered with Cambium Networks and deployed Cambium Networks’ PMP430 fixed wireless solution alongside Digicel’s services.

Digicel Business implemented its Private Branch Networks VPN service together with Cambium Networks’ PMP430 (5.4/5.8 GHz OFDM fixed wireless) to extend secure, low-latency broadband to hard-to-reach locations. The joint solution, rolled out since March 2012, has delivered consistent, reliable connectivity to thousands of schools and regional offices, enabling payroll, administrative systems, and richer learning opportunities for students and teachers.
