A Cambium Networks Case Study
Devonport Boys High School faced unreliable Wi‑Fi across a thick‑walled, multi‑building campus where nine in ten students use Google Chromebooks and online exams and cloud‑based learning were becoming essential. The school engaged Cambium Networks technology (including its XMS‑Cloud management) to replace an aging network and meet future demands for simultaneous multiuser classrooms, easy guest access, and low‑cost, high‑performance infrastructure.
Cambium Networks equipment was deployed across the site—131 access points (including XV3‑8 and XV2‑2T0 Wi‑Fi 6 models plus XR/XD series APs) and 37 EX series switches—managed via XMS‑Cloud with zero‑touch provisioning. The new network enabled a serverless, cloud‑based school, let staff remotely manage and troubleshoot the network, and supported measurable outcomes such as 180 students taking exams simultaneously; the solution delivered resilient coverage, improved lesson continuity, and strong value for money from Cambium Networks.
