Crowsnest Broadband, based in Central Pennsylvania and led by Dwayne Zimmerman, provides broadband across rugged, forested terrain east of the Laurel Highlands. The difficult topography and heavy tree cover caused line-of-sight failures that made 30–40% of scheduled installations unsuccessful, and the operator also lacked accurate coverage maps for FCC BDC reporting and grant applications. To address these challenges, Crowsnest Broadband turned to Cambium Networks and its cnHeat RF planning solution.

Cambium Networks implemented cnHeat’s LiDAR-driven, LOS/NLOS prediction and integrated management via the ONE Network platform to prequalify sites more accurately. The result: failed installations dropped from about 30–40% to nearly 1–2%, faster dispatch decisions, more successful installs per month, lower operational costs, better-targeted marketing, and accurate BDC reporting that supported grant opportunities and expanded service coverage.
