Corpus Christi College Builds Digital Learning Environment With Xirrus Wi-Fi

Corpus Christi College, a private coeducational school in Perth with more than 1,200 students, was struggling with a Wi‑Fi network that repeatedly slowed or failed under a 1:1 device program, once forcing the rescheduling of Progressive Achievement Tests. To solve this, the college selected Xirrus Wi‑Fi from Cambium Networks to deliver a dependable, future‑proof wireless foundation for its MacBook/iPad‑based digital learning environment.

Cambium Networks’ Xirrus solution (deployed via a proof of concept and implementation partner) provided controller‑less access points with up to eight radios and software upgradeability to 802.11ac Wave 2, reducing the number of APs to install and manage. The new network now reliably supports more than 1,800 devices (sometimes over 2,000), lets entire cohorts take tests simultaneously, and enables routine digital practices—iBooks, iTunes U, flipped classrooms—so teachers no longer change lesson plans due to connectivity problems.
