Connecting Thousands of Wireless Broadband Users Daily

Tennessee Wireless needed to bring reliable, high-speed connectivity to a very rural intersection on US‑40 where hotels, restaurants and a busy truck stop previously relied on leased T1 lines or satellite service. To replace slow, expensive links and serve thousands of daily visitors, Tennessee Wireless deployed a Cambium Networks ePMP™ Access Point as part of the ePMP 1000 distribution network solution.

Using a fiber-fed tower and a single Cambium Networks ePMP Access Point, Tennessee Wireless connected the truck stop, hotels and restaurants to deliver streaming video surveillance, guest voice/data access and secure credit-card transactions. The network — delivering up to 100 Mbps in a 20 MHz channel on 2.4/5 GHz — has run problem-free for three years, serves more than a thousand unique users daily, provides 10–30× the speed of prior T1 links and cut connectivity costs roughly in half.
