A Cambium Networks Case Study
Co-Channel Radio Communications Systems was engaged to solve a water district’s urgent need for secure, reliable broadband across a 2,400 km² service area serving roughly 1.0–1.1 million people. The district required mission‑critical connectivity for CCTV, alarm monitoring, VoIP, access control, BMS and wide‑area radio, but legacy leased lines, ADSL, cellular and VHF/UHF solutions lacked bandwidth, reliability and cost‑effectiveness. Co-Channel selected Cambium Networks’ PTP products to meet those requirements.
Cambium Networks supplied a backbone of PTP wireless broadband — primarily PTP 800 in licensed 6–38 GHz bands and PTP 600 in the unlicensed 5 GHz band — enabling the water district to own a higher‑throughput, lower‑cost network. Since 2008 the deployment has grown to over 45 links across 40 locations (330 km of end‑to‑end links, 113 km between farthest nodes), delivering higher throughput, increased reliability and low maintenance while supporting CCTV, alarms, VoIP and other mission‑critical services and providing an attractive ROI.
