Closing the Digital Divide in Ireland

Eurona Ireland, a wireless ISP serving about 3,200 business and residential customers across Cavan, Longford, Roscommon, Leitrim and Galway, faced a persistent rural digital divide where fiber was uneconomic and legacy wireless could not deliver the speeds customers needed. To close that gap and support streaming, large uploads and multi-device households, Eurona Ireland chose Cambium Networks’ PMP 450m with cnMedusa technology.

Cambium Networks’ solution was carefully planned with LINKPlanner, deployed using existing PMP 450 subscriber modules and technical training, and delivered measurable gains—customers up to 5 miles achieved up to 50 Mbps and the PMP 450m provides more than 400 Mbps in a 20 MHz channel. The upgrade enabled new 15–50 Mbps packages, immediate subscriber module cost savings, faster customer upgrades and noticeably improved streaming, upload/download performance and reliability across the rural communities.
