Cambium’s PMP 450 Solution Helps Jab Wireless Offer Their Subscribers More Value

JAB Wireless, a Denver-based broadband provider serving 142,000 residential and commercial subscribers across 13 states, faced rapidly rising data usage driven by streaming video that pushed its legacy Canopy 100 Series FSK systems to capacity and threatened service quality across roughly 5,000 access points. To meet the need for higher throughput, low latency, and an easy upgrade path that would integrate with its disparate networks, JAB selected Cambium Networks and its Canopy PMP 450 solution.

Cambium Networks deployed PMP 450 APs and SMs (5.4/5.8 GHz dual-band, GPS-synchronized, software‑defined radios) to deliver high spectral efficiency and dense AP support. Field and production results showed AP aggregate throughput >90 Mbps, individual SM throughput >50–60 Mbps, real-world service of about 70 Mbps down / 20 Mbps up with 7–8 ms latency, strong link test results (up to ~90 Mbps at short range), and clear subscriber satisfaction—allowing JAB to rapidly add capacity and modernize its network.
