Cambium Increases Bandwidth for Dundee

Dundee City Council needed to upgrade its outdoor wireless broadband to meet rising demand for high‑speed access across the city. Working with Rapier Systems and vendor Cambium Networks, the Council replaced its aging network using Cambium’s Canopy PMP 450 fixed wireless broadband access solution to support file transfer, VoIP, CCTV and other ICT services for citizens, staff and remote offices.

Rapier deployed Cambium Networks’ PMP 450 Access Points and Subscriber Modules with GPS synchronisation, delivering high throughput and low latency. The upgrade provided a stable, scalable platform and delivered three times more available bandwidth than the legacy system, improving reliability for online services, video streaming and future expansion while supporting wider community and innovation benefits.
