Bluetel Wifi Brings Internet Where Fibre Does Not Reach in Sierra de Guadarrama

Bluetel Wif, a Madrid-based operator serving residents and businesses on the slopes of the Sierra de Guadarrama, faced the challenge of delivering high-speed internet where terrestrial fibre is too expensive or simply does not reach. To overcome this, Bluetel Wif turned to Cambium Networks and deployed its fixed wireless solutions (PTP/PMP backhaul and Wi‑Fi access technologies) to provide reliable last‑mile connectivity in hard-to-reach mountain locations.

Using Cambium Networks technology, Bluetel Wif now offers speeds from 60 Mb to 1 Gbps, serves more than 1,000 customers across 14 mountain towns, and often brings connections to users within a day. The deployment lowered the cost and time to connect, enabled new “smart places” use cases (surveillance, IoT, fire prevention), expanded voice and broadband services, and materially reduced the digital divide in the Sierra del Guadarrama.
