Barcelona International Convention Centre, a 100,000‑square‑meter venue that hosts roughly 125 events a year, faced an outdated Wi‑Fi system from 2004 that could not handle modern high‑density device use or rapid event turnarounds. To give guests reliable, roam‑free connectivity and a competitive edge, the centre chose Cambium Networks’ Xirrus Wi‑Fi solution.

Cambium Networks deployed Xirrus access points and the Xirrus Management System (XMS), cutting large‑event setup time from a full day to about one‑third the time (ready by noon), supporting up to 3,000 simultaneous users with fewer APs and less cabling. XMS delivers per‑event application control, bandwidth limits, reporting, and software radio reprogramming (2.4/5 GHz and 802.11n→802.11ac upgrades) with a few clicks, increasing revenue potential, helping win more business and extending the investment life.
