Avoid Government-Funded Overbuilds Using cnHeat with Integrated BDC to Submit High-Quality Data

Wavelinc Communications, a WISP serving about 1,200 residential and business subscribers across 80 tower sites and 150 access points in northwest Ohio, faced the risk of government-funded overbuilds unless it could prove reliable fixed wireless coverage on the FCC/NTIA Broadband Data Collection (BDC) maps. To meet precise BDC requirements and protect its service area—including demonstrating use of CBRS where necessary—Wavelinc turned to Cambium Networks' cnHeat planning software with integrated BDC reporting.

Cambium Networks implemented cnHeat’s LIDAR-based, 1‑meter‑precision RF predictions and built‑in BDC export, enabling Wavelinc to generate address-level coverage and speed-tier (25/50/100 Mbps) reports with minimal manual work. The result: Wavelinc accurately documented coverage for its 1,200 subscribers across its county footprint, could model new install sites, run targeted marketing, and substantially reduce the risk of BEAD-funded overbuilds while streamlining regulatory reporting.
