Agricultural Technology Company in Brazil Reduces Wildfire Loss by 90%

Sintecsys, an agricultural technology company in Brazil, needed to detect wildfires and monitor crops in real time across millions of hectares using tower‑mounted high‑resolution cameras and a detection algorithm that pinpoints outbreaks within 15 km. Facing the challenge of deploying towers up to 80 km into dense, off‑grid backcountry with no power or internet, Sintecsys turned to Cambium Networks and its ePMP 1000 wireless broadband radios for a robust connectivity solution.

Cambium Networks’ ePMP 1000 radios were deployed by Sintecsys‑trained teams to provide PTP long‑distance links and stream 5–15 Mbps of high‑resolution video from 50 towers across six Brazilian states, covering more than 3,290,000 hectares. The Cambium Networks solution reduced detection time from 60 minutes to 5 minutes, cut wildfire losses by 90%, saved clients about $600,000 per season, halved fire brigade costs, eliminated environmental fines, and achieved payback within three months.
