60 GHz cnWave Connects Hundreds of Campers at the North Sea

Gemeinde Dornum, operator of the Campingplatz am Nordseestrand on the North Sea coast, needed a high‑performance, weather‑resilient Wi‑Fi solution to support hundreds of simultaneous users across 100 permanent camper sites, 200 caravan/mobile‑home pitches and 60 tent pitches. They worked with IT provider 1top.IT and selected Cambium Networks, using 60 GHz cnWave fixed wireless for backhaul plus cnPilot Wi‑Fi access points and cnMaestro for network management.

Cambium Networks deployed cnWave V5000 distribution and V1000 client nodes with 18 outdoor and 4 indoor cnPilot APs, installing and commissioning the network within two days and managing it via cnMaestro. The result is reliable coastal connectivity—hundreds of sites connected, improved guest Wi‑Fi ratings, support for streaming and remote work, and easy future expansion (up to four additional distribution nodes or 30 client nodes per V5000).
