Nuveen Real Estate identifies $9.2M in annual energy savings with Cambio

Nuveen Real Estate, an affordable housing provider, faced the dual challenge of rising operating costs and increasing regulatory pressure to lower carbon emissions across its portfolio. To address this, they partnered with Cambio to use its platform for identifying and prioritizing energy efficiency upgrades.

Cambio eliminated the traditional bottleneck of costly energy audits by generating audit-free, contractor-ready project scopes directly from building data. This allowed Nuveen to accelerate project delivery. The results were significant: an evaluation of 129 properties identified 896 retrofit projects, representing $9.2 million in annual energy cost savings and a reduction of 42,985 tonnes of CO₂e per year.
