The Province of Nova Scotia, through Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations (SNSMR), needed a better way to manage business registration, licensing, collections, audits, and cross-department service delivery across 54 communities and an online portal. Calytera’s AMANDA business process automation software was used to replace fragmented legacy databases and help create a more unified, efficient one-stop service for citizens and businesses.
Calytera implemented AMANDA as an enterprise-wide platform for the Nova Scotia Business Registry, collections, audits, rebates, and other provincial programs, integrating with systems such as CRA, WCB, and SAP. The result was faster turnaround times, over 60,000 businesses using the registry, more than 60 types of licenses issued, over $450 million in debt collected, and millions of dollars recovered in business taxes, while helping the province work toward a 20% reduction in administrative burden.
