City of Toronto - Customer Case Study

The City of Toronto, one of North America’s largest municipalities, needed a more efficient and transparent way to manage inspections for roughly 18,000 food establishments after public scrutiny raised concerns about the effectiveness of its food inspection process. To address this challenge, the city turned to Calytera’s AMANDA platform to modernize its Public Health Department workflows.

Using Calytera’s AMANDA, Toronto launched the Dine Safe public inspection website and consolidated inspection data into a single system, making results publicly searchable and helping inspectors track due inspections more consistently. The solution also expanded beyond food safety to support other public health programs, improve prosecution support, and strengthen reporting and security, while enabling on-site mobile inspections and more transparent service delivery.
