MoveOn.org, a political non-profit with 4.2 million members, needed a way to aggregate and track the nationwide efforts of thousands of dispersed volunteers during the 2008 campaign. Faced with organizing mass volunteer reporting and eliminating slow, manual phone- and web-based data collection, the organization sought a scalable, easy-to-use solution for high-volume, on-demand outreach.
MoveOn partnered with CallFire to deploy a VoiceXML-based Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system that let volunteers call in and report via a simple survey-style phone interface. The platform was deployed quickly, handled simultaneous high-volume call-ins, and delivered faster, more accurate, exportable results—providing a cost-effective, scalable tool that let MoveOn monitor activity in real time and adjust campaign strategy.
