Jamie Johnson approached California Closets with the challenge of creating a fun and functional play and sleepover space for her kids that was both organized and blended with her home's midcentury architecture. She needed a dedicated hangout area separate from the main living areas that could transform from a playroom by day into a comfortable guest room at night.

California Closets designed a custom solution featuring two full-size Murphy beds flanked by narrow closet towers and a horizontal bookshelf. This configuration maximized open floor space for play while providing ample hidden storage. The warm wood grain finish complemented the existing room, making the system feel like a built-in part of the home. The result was a highly versatile room that the family loves, giving the kids a preferred hangout of their own and providing an easy, transformative space for both play and sleepovers.
