A Caliber Public Safety Case Study
Putnam County E911 (IN) faced slow response times and limited communications among staff and with first responders. Seeking a faster, more reliable mobile alerting solution for the county’s five school systems, the agency selected Caliber Public Safety’s FirstAlert application and secured funding through Indiana’s Secured School Safety Grant to deploy the app across 11 campuses.
Caliber Public Safety implemented FirstAlert integrated with its CAD NG so alerts automatically create incidents in the CAD and deliver critical location and incident details to responders, while enabling two‑way and discreet text communications for users who cannot call 9-1-1. In a spring 2022 active‑shooter exercise, responders began receiving location and incident information just 21 seconds after activation, demonstrating faster response times and strong user feedback.
