Case Study: State of Arizona achieves centralized, automated telecom management and $4.5M in credits with Calero‑MDSL

A Calero Case Study

Preview of the State of Arizona Case Study

State Government looks to centralize and automate processes using Calero-MDSL software and managed services to bill back state agencies and operate at zero budget

The State of Arizona’s Telecom Department, responsible for validating vendor billing and charging municipal agencies, needed to centralize and automate management of more than $40M in fixed and mobile telecom expenses across 6,700 cost centers and 675 locations. Manual invoice processing, no automated split‑billing, fragmented reporting across multiple systems, and the need to integrate with Remedy ITSM prevented the State from scaling existing workflows. The State engaged Calero (Calero‑MDSL) to deploy its TEM platform and managed services.

Calero‑MDSL completed a 60‑day migration from the prior provider, integrated its TEM platform with the State’s Remedy ITSM to automate circuit orders and inventory, and centralized invoice validation, billing and collections. Calero’s managed services delivered automated workflows, hundreds of monthly reports plus ad‑hoc reporting for users, and dispute resolution that generated more than $4.5M in credits, significantly improving cost accountability and operational efficiency.
