ybot, an AI voice assistant for deskless workers, needed a simpler way to manage equity as it scaled a distributed team across the world. After using spreadsheets and Carta for earlier rounds, the company ran into challenges issuing and managing stock options for employees outside the United States, while also needing a way to keep its cap table organized as it prepared for future funding.

With Cake Equity, ybot migrated its cap table, issued ESOP and different stock option types for board members and employees, and used Cake’s future-round modeling tools to plan an upcoming Series A. The team said Cake Equity made the process seamless, improved confidence around diligence, and helped them understand the cap table impact of different valuation and fundraising scenarios, although no specific numerical metrics were shared.
