JurisLink and CafeX Save Attorneys Time and Money

JurisLink, a US provider of Internet-based legal conferencing services, needed a simpler way for attorneys to meet with clients in correctional facilities. The company wanted to cut travel costs, reduce wasted billable time spent waiting onsite, and eliminate the complexity that hurt attorney adoption in earlier video conferencing pilots. JurisLink turned to CafeX Communications and its WebRTC technology to create a user-friendly, browser-based experience that required no downloads or special configuration.

With CafeX Communications, JurisLink deployed a cloud-based secure video conferencing solution that let attorneys launch meetings from a computer or tablet using only an internet connection and webcam, while clients joined through a web browser at the facility. The result was major cost savings and easier adoption: one attorney/client meeting saved about $1,400, a county public defender’s office reported $12,500 in monthly savings, and more than $140,000 had been saved across an average of 140 secure meetings per month, with another district estimating $250,000 in annual savings.
