Case Study: Metsä Group improves pulp mill design coordination with Cadmatic

Metsä Board Husum – Design and information management in extrusion coating line project

Metsä Group's Metsä Board Husum pulp and board mill in Sweden faced a challenge in making on-site visits more effective during the installation of a new, EUR 38 million extrusion coating line. To address this, the customer turned to its long-term vendor, Cadmatic, to implement a solution using Cadmatic's mobile 3D review tool, eGo.

The Cadmatic eGo solution allowed project staff and suppliers to browse the plant's 3D model on a Windows tablet while physically walking through the facility. This was particularly useful for avoiding collisions and for visualizing the final installation. The result was a significant enhancement to on-site coordination, with the Part Project and Installation Manager noting that eGo took their model review mobility to an entirely new level, surprising them very positively.
