Goltens Green Technologies – Laser-scanned point cloud use in 3D design of BWT systems

The customer, Goltens Green Technologies, a Dutch ship repair and retrofit specialist, faced the challenge of incorporating highly accurate laser-scanned point clouds of ship interiors into their 3D design process for ballast water treatment system installations. They also needed an effective way to share and review these complex retrofit solutions with their customers. To address this, they turned to Cadmatic and its Outfitting software.

The Cadmatic solution enabled the flawless and efficient import of point clouds into its 3D design environment, which was essential for creating accurate concept designs and conducting detailed engineering. The CADMATIC eBrowser proved to be a critical tool for project reviewing, collision checks, and presenting the final designs to customers, minimizing rework and surprises during installation. As a result of implementing Cadmatic, Goltens Groningen has successfully completed over 380 ballast water treatment projects, using the software as a core element for their successful and sustainable marine engineering solutions.
