How PARTsolutions is used at BOMAG to find, reuse and control parts

BOMAG, a global leader in compaction technology, needed a better way to manage around 85,000 standard, supplier, and internal parts. Its old SAP-based parts management system was limited, relied on manual classification for many items, and made it difficult to avoid duplicate parts and control rising engineering and procurement costs. BOMAG turned to CADENAS PARTsolutions to improve parts search and management and to make reuse of existing components easier.

CADENAS implemented PARTsolutions across about 80 workstations plus five floating licenses, integrating it into BOMAG’s design and procurement processes and linking it to CAD tools such as Creo Elements/Direct Modeling. The solution enabled geometric similarity search, direct insertion of catalog parts, and faster identification of existing or similar components, helping BOMAG avoid duplicate parts and reduce workload. According to BOMAG, each new part avoided saves about 1,200 euros, user acceptance improved significantly, and the company reports that parts growth would have been much higher without PARTsolutions.
