Case Study: Vicrea achieves interoperable Smart Solutions used by over 50% of Dutch municipalities with Cadcorp

Vicrea - Customer Case Study

Vicrea is a Dutch Spatial IT company that develops Smart Solutions for municipalities to maximise the value of geo-information. Faced with a fragmented municipal IT landscape—many small councils lacked resources to maintain bespoke systems and needed to comply with government-mandated architectures and key registers—Vicrea partnered with Cadcorp and other vendors to build interoperable, location-centric applications that expose spatial data across administrative systems.

To deliver this, Vicrea implemented a suite of municipal Smart Solutions built around an all-Oracle spatial data warehouse and an Enterprise Service Bus, and integrated Cadcorp technology to ensure openness and interoperability. The result: more than 50% of Dutch municipalities now use Vicrea Smart Solutions to create and maintain legal key registers, keep single definitive records that automatically propagate related changes, and present data as maps and forms so citizens and agencies provide information only once — all enabled by Cadcorp’s interoperable spatial components.
