A Cadcorp Case Study
Thames Valley Housing (TVH), which manages over 14,000 homes across more than 40 local authorities, faced rising grounds‑maintenance costs and lacked accurate, consistent mapping of the land it was responsible for. To address unclear boundaries, inconsistent site data and costly tendering delays, TVH evaluated GIS vendors and selected Cadcorp’s Spatial Information System (Cadcorp SIS) to provide authoritative spatial records and area calculations for grounds maintenance.
Using Cadcorp SIS together with Ordnance Survey MasterMap and Land Registry title plans, TVH staff mapped over 400 schemes in under a year, enabling precise area measurements, transparent service pricing, faster procurement and better tenant communication. Cadcorp’s solution helped TVH tailor services, estimate costs for new developments and benchmark contracts, delivering roughly £200,000 a year in savings on a bundle of services (about £2m over ten years), savings TVH largely attributes to being better informed by Cadcorp SIS.
