Plus Dane Group, a housing provider managing over 15,000 homes across Merseyside and Cheshire, faced the challenge of unifying GIS capability after a merger left one predecessor with a functioning GIS and the other with none. To promote data sharing across diverse users (tenant managers, grounds maintenance, arrears officers and property administrators) and provide an easy-to-deploy, developable system, Plus Dane Group selected Cadcorp and its Cadcorp SIS platform (including GeognoSIS Viewer, Map Modeller, Map Editor, mSIS and the Housing Toolkit).

Cadcorp delivered a desktop and intranet-based GIS integrated with an open-source PostGIS database, enabling fast creation and sharing of up‑to‑date mapping and spatial analysis. The Cadcorp solution improved productivity and information flow—non‑GIS staff can access current data via the intranet, arrears officers are allocated fair territories using point‑in‑polygon counts, hot‑spot analysis directs resources to high‑arrears areas, and overall management costs and response times have been reduced.
