Midland Heart - Customer Case Study

Midland Heart, one of the UK’s top ten housing and care organisations managing more than 32,000 homes, faced fragmented geographic data and multiple systems after a merger, leaving location information accessible only to a small GIS team. This dependency made it slow and inefficient to answer basic questions such as “Where are our properties?”; to resolve this Midland Heart selected Cadcorp and its Cadcorp Web Map Layers offering.

Cadcorp implemented a customised intranet GIS called PinPoint, built on Cadcorp Web Map Layers with a centralised PostGIS database and an intuitive web interface, creating a single point of entry for all location data. The Cadcorp solution now gives approximately 1,200 staff self-service access (including remote users), reduced expensive site visits, cut reliance on the internal GIS bureau, and freed the Innovation and Research team to focus on strategic work—delivering faster, more cost-effective property queries and measurable operational savings.
