A Cadcorp Case Study
Conagua (the National Water Commission of Mexico) needed a nationwide GIS to address severe and uneven water stress, growing urbanisation, flood risk and conflicts over land development. To deliver an integrated planning and information platform, Cadcorp’s technology (implemented by partner Argeomática) was chosen, with components of the Cadcorp SIS suite providing the core spatial infrastructure and services.
Using Cadcorp SIS, Argeomática built four linked applications — Módulo Recepción (planning/permit intake), Módulo Consulta (property/federal-land queries), Módulo Topografía (surveying, LiDAR/GPS/3D and hydraulic modelling) and Módulo Gestión (fee collection) — enabling flood-impact assessment, transparent community consultation and interoperability with hydraulic models. Cadcorp’s solution has already generated revenue streams to fund water‑management initiatives, improved transparency in planning decisions, and provided Conagua with a standards-compliant spatial database to support regional and national water-resource planning.
