CentremapsLive needed to make detailed geographic data easy to find, buy and use for a wide range of customers — including people without GIS or CAD software — while aggregating maps from many suppliers and solving complex licensing issues. To meet this challenge they partnered with Cadcorp, using Cadcorp GeognoSIS as the web-mapping engine to deliver mapping via a simple browser-based, wizard-driven portal.

Cadcorp’s GeognoSIS, working with a PostGIS-enabled PostgreSQL backend, produces layered PDFs and exports in over 150 industry formats on the fly, supports tools like group drawing and web services, and integrates licence options such as the Plan, Design and Build licence with 13-year archiving and multi-user sharing. The Cadcorp-powered CENTREMAPSlive portal now serves several hundred downloads a week (DXF/DWG and PDF being the most popular), enables multi-account organisation access and easier data sharing for non-specialists, demonstrating clear uptake and commercial impact.
