Ovivo (formerly Christ Kennicott), a specialist in designing custom water treatment plants, faced the challenge of finding a highly flexible and reliable plant design system to efficiently manage their unique, project-based engineering process. Their previous solution no longer met their demands, and an alternative group-mandated CAD system proved difficult to use and unsuited to their operational needs. This led them to seek a new system that could handle complex 3D design and integrate with downstream procurement and financial control processes.

CAD Schroer provided the solution with their MPDS4 (MEDUSA4 Plant Design System). The implementation included modules for 2D, 3D, plant design, and FACTORY LAYOUT, which allowed Ovivo's designers to quickly create 3D models from customer 2D drawings and automate time-consuming tasks like generating pipe isometrics and bills of materials. The results were significant gains in speed, flexibility, and reliability. CAD Schroer's software enabled seamless data exchange with clients and directly fed into Ovivo's procurement system, streamlining the entire project workflow and providing a strong selling point for new contracts.
