Gas Insulated Switchgear Design with MEDUSA4

Siemens Transmission & Distribution (T&D) in France faced the challenge of replacing its aging proprietary engineering and data management systems with a centralized solution. Their legacy software, which included MEDUSA Classic and in-house programs, was difficult to maintain due to dwindling support and outdated hardware. Siemens T&D partnered with vendor CAD Schroer to implement the MEDUSA4 design suite and the MEDInfo Engineering Data Management module to standardize and streamline their processes.

CAD Schroer executed a migration that consolidated Siemens' data and custom tools into the new MEDUSA4 and MEDInfo system. The solution future-proofed decades of intellectual property, eliminated duplication, and provided a flexible, fully supported platform. The results included a modernized and centralized drafting and data management system that met the company's unique quality assurance requirements, with users reported as very happy with the migration and CAD Schroer's support.
