Cactusoft worked with Miles Tool & Machinery Centre (MTMC), a major UK-based retailer of tools and machinery, to address a data synchronization challenge. With over 1,000,000 SKUs, MTMC needed a fast, automated way to keep its Cactusoft-powered ecommerce website's stock levels and prices in sync with a new, authoritative third-party stock and order management system that was being implemented.

The solution Cactusoft implemented was a custom-built .NET sync tool that queries the third-party system's API and updates the web site database in near real-time. This automated process eliminated manual data entry, significantly cut the workload for order handling staff, and reduced the chance of errors. The integration allows MTMC to maintain its familiar web site while ensuring data is synchronized with the new primary system with minimal human intervention.
