Delivering Smets 2, Smets 1 And Zigbee Expertise To Uk Energy Suppliers

nPower, a wholly owned subsidiary of Innogy SE and one of the UK’s Big Six energy suppliers, needed expert support for its Smart Meter programme. The company was mandated to support the UK Smart Meter programme and required deep knowledge of SMETS 1, SMETS 2 and Zigbee to help test its existing SMETS 1 estate and prepare for DCC Smart Meter services.

CACI Limited deployed expert test leads and Zigbee specialists into nPower’s smart meter test programme, provided training and knowledge transfer, and supported test strategy, execution and analysis with a flexible ramp-up/ramp-down model. As a result, CACI Limited helped nPower build in-house capability in SMETS 2 and Zigbee, scale test operations quickly, and meet government deadlines, with the partnership continuing into its second year.
