British Land, a major property company, needed to better understand who its centre customers were and how shoppers moved through its retail portfolio as the retail landscape changed. CACI Limited was brought in to help build a fast, robust body of research and benchmarking insight to support informed decision-making across the business.

CACI Limited developed a bespoke research programme built around tailored exit surveys for each centre, with questions focused on the key issues facing the portfolio and local challenges. The programme covered more than 75 surveys across over 40 centres in the last year, giving British Land a strong research base to guide asset management, leasing strategy, estate future-proofing, and investment decisions, while deepening understanding of shoppers and portfolio performance.
