Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the largest provider of acute hospital services in Surrey, was struggling to keep its reference data up to date. Manually sourcing hundreds of files from multiple websites and organisations led to outdated lookup data, incorrect GP Practice to CCG mappings, and hundreds of monthly data challenges from its commissioner. Finance staff were spending around a week each month correcting invoices and ensuring they were sent to the right CCGs.

CACI Limited implemented UK Healthcare Dimensions (UKHD), providing the Trust with a single SQL database containing the NHS Data Dictionary reference tables, coding schemes, and organisational data from TRUD. The solution integrated into the Trust’s data warehouse and supported nightly builds, income validation, and SUS submissions. As a result, invoice accuracy improved, data challenges were dramatically reduced, and finance work fell from days each month to just a few hours, while the Trust gained confidence that its commissioning and GP practice data was current and reliable.
