Thorlux Lighting, a professional lighting manufacturer, required a next-generation lighting control gateway to replace its existing system and enhance its IoT features. The company engaged vendor Bytesnap Design for its custom Linux development services to decrease latency and provide secure, bi-directional control.

Bytesnap developed a new lighting control gateway built on a Linux BSP platform with drivers for a custom baseboard. The solution enabled secure communication with a Microsoft Azure platform and allowed the client's product to communicate with thousands of luminaires instead of hundreds. The result was a modernized, cost-effective system that can be remotely controlled and easily updated via firmware. Bytesnap's work future-proofed the product and reduced the need for future third-party support.
