Case Study: Workhorse improves resilience, security and scalability with Bytes AWS

A Bytes Technology Case Study

Preview of the Workhorse Case Study

Workhorse fine-tune their infrastructure for peak performance, thanks to Bytes AWS

Workhorse, a technology company based in Redhill, Surrey, develops order and inventory management software to help businesses streamline workflows and improve visibility across customers, orders, invoices and inventory. The company wanted Bytes Technology to review its existing AWS cloud infrastructure to improve resilience, security and cost optimisation, and to see whether it could benefit from new or improved AWS services, including a Well-Architected Review.

Bytes Technology carried out the review using AWS Well-Architected best practices and produced a prioritised report with recommendations to strengthen security, logging, monitoring and scalability. Bytes Technology suggested changes such as tightening EC2 Security Groups, using Instance Profiles and SSM Agents, and adding services like GuardDuty, AWS Backup, AWS Config, Security Hub and Amazon Inspector, plus auto-scaling and shared storage improvements. As a result, Workhorse improved resilience and security, gained better visibility through monitoring and alerting, and reduced database slowdown without increasing costs by moving to a newer RDS instance generation.
