Preview of the Liverpool City Council Case Study

Liverpool City Council transforms its strategy and saves £300,000

Liverpool City Council, the largest local authority in the Merseyside city region, needed to respond to austerity pressures, rising Microsoft licensing costs, and uncertainty around upcoming projects. Working with Bytes Technology, the council sought to review and restructure its Microsoft licensing strategy to align with Microsoft’s Digital Transformation Arrangement and support a move toward cloud services.

Bytes Technology’s Commercial Advisory Service team ran stakeholder workshops and detailed licensing modelling to identify the best options for the council. The result was a new licensing strategy for the next 3–6 years, reduced compliance risk, and minimum savings of £315,000 over the next three years, with further savings expected.
