SLX, an event hire, lighting and rigging company, needed site-wide WiFi for the Bristol SU Freshers Fair 2021 so vendors could take card payments and both vendors and students could connect reliably across a large outdoor event with more than 16,000 attendees. They turned to Bytes Digital for an event WiFi solution that would work across marquees, shelters and staff areas.

Bytes Digital carried out site surveys and heat-map planning, then installed and managed a mesh WiFi network across the full event space with separate networks for vendors, students and staff. The result was reliable roaming and secure connectivity for over 200 organisations and vendors, enabling card payments, video calls and other activity throughout the event, and SLX reported the system performed very well under peak demand.
