Simply Good Jars Is Expanding To 500 Stores With The Support Of Byte Technology

Simply Good Jars is a retail startup selling fresh food in reusable glass jars, and it needed a dependable way to distribute highly perishable meals in workplaces, hospitals, and other non-traditional locations. The company had tried multiple unattended retail technologies and even built its own prototypes, but struggled with reliability, spoilage, and the difficulty of scaling fresh food in vending-style environments. Byte Technology provided the product/service platform Simply Good Jars needed to move forward.

Byte Technology implemented its RFID-based unattended store system, giving Simply Good Jars a seamless open-shelf experience, simple operations, and real-time data on inventory, spoilage, expiration dates, and sales. The results included launching its first Byte-powered location in November 2018, growing to 35 locations within a few months, and building a waitlist of about 500 locations. Byte Technology’s smart data also helped Simply Good Jars improve production planning, reduce waste, and expand more efficiently, with eight new stores being added per month.
