VirtualAPT, a provider of premium VR/360° content and related production services, struggled to keep its on-premise and WAN storage environment scalable and reliable when the pandemic forced employees off the office LAN. The company had been relying on storage drives tied to a Windows desktop with network drive mappings and FileZilla for WAN access, and turned to Buurst for a SoftNAS deployment that could support its remote workflow.

Buurst implemented SoftNAS in VirtualAPT’s VPC, integrating it with existing Amazon S3 and CloudFront usage and enabling remote editors to work from a cloud-based workstation close to the NAS. Buurst’s support team handled deployment, configuration, and optimization, helping VirtualAPT achieve transfer speeds up to 900 Mbps and a more scalable, high-performance, unified storage system that simplified IT management and enabled fast cloud migration.
