SoftNAS Delivers Secure, Reliable Cloud Solution For Primary Storage and Backup Data

MagHub, a SaaS platform for publishers (part of the Fry Family Network and developed by Aysling), needed a mature cloud NAS to support growing read/write workloads and terabytes of client data—about 20–30 GB of net data added per week. Native AWS options (S3/EBS) would have forced a costly application rewrite (>$200K and ~1 year) and could not provide a shared, mountable filesystem for multiple instances, so MagHub required a scalable, reliable shared storage solution.

MagHub deployed SoftNAS Cloud to avoid rewriting the application, using a single virtual NAS controller attached to separate storage pools for active and backup data and SnapReplicate™ for fast backups. Replication and setup were simple and quick (replication done in minutes; production in under a month), delivering a common storage environment across tens of instances, terabytes of data, and hundreds of customers—improving reliability, backup speed, and overall manageability.
