Case Study: Carbon Media Group achieves centralized, secure Cloud NFS storage on AWS with Buurst

A Buurst Case Study

Preview of the Carbon Media Group Case Study

Cloud NFS Storage on Amazon Web Services for a Growing Media Company

Carbon Media Group, the world’s largest digital media company for outdoor audiences, acquired 36 websites (including Homesteading Today, which draws about 1 million unique visitors monthly) that had been running on a single dedicated server and disk. To securely host and manage dozens of servers that needed shared access to the same files, CMG needed a centralized cloud storage solution with NFS backed by EBS rather than ephemeral local disks.

CMG evaluated options and deployed SoftNAS Cloud NAS on AWS, attracted by quick support, easy Marketplace setup and an intuitive StorageCenter dashboard. SoftNAS delivered full-featured NFS (v3/v4) with snapshots, cloning, caching, compression, deduplication and SNAP HA for failover; the result was stable, easily managed sites “humming along,” strong SLA-backed support, and a trusted vendor partnership.
