Trinity Financial, the longtime developer behind Boston East, needed a modern entry system for its 200-unit, tech-forward mid-rise to match residents’ smartphone lifestyles. They had originally specified a traditional video intercom but chose ButterflyMX’s smartphone-enabled video intercom solution to better fit the building’s high-tech vision and tenant expectations.

ButterflyMX installed a cloud-connected video intercom that lets residents see callers, open/manage doors from their phones, and issue virtual keys and delivery pins. The install was seamless, allowed Trinity Financial to eliminate extra wiring and in-unit hardware, and yielded a 63% reduction in installation costs versus the originally specified traditional intercom; it also improved operations such as Zipcar access via an entry PIN and helped differentiate the property in a crowded market.
