A Butterfly Case Study
National Disability Services came to Butterfly with a cluttered, hard‑to‑navigate website that made it difficult for members — from large organisations to very small providers — to find gated, membership‑level content or join online. Butterfly rebuilt the site on Joomla while NDS migrated to Microsoft Dynamics CRM (with a bespoke API), so the project also had to solve cross‑team and cross‑system integration and streamline a messy information architecture.
Butterfly used an Agile approach with intensive “Extreme Testing” to redesign responsive templates, reorganise IA, implement tagging (765 items tagged), multiple menus and colour‑coded content, and build WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility into the site while integrating with Dynamics; the work included 1,472 development tasks and about 45,000 lines of code, delivered performance optimisations and easier content management (tags sync from CRM to Joomla), and left NDS highly satisfied with the result.
