How UX East Meets West upskills their distributed community

UX East Meets West is a global online community of Taiwanese UX professionals. As a distributed group running ideation, brainstorming, and online workshops, they struggled with Zoom-based sessions that forced participants to switch between tools like Zoom and Miro, made it hard for everyone to see the same content, and often created awkward, disconnected reactions during workshops.

Butter gave UX East Meets West an all-in-one workshop space with video calls, Miro, presentation slides, reactions, sound effects, breakouts, and co-facilitator support. With Butter, Ben Shih could run smoother sessions for 50–100 participants and more than 20 breakout rooms, while improving moderation and engagement; the community also saved time by avoiding tab-switching and setup friction, though no hard numeric ROI was provided.
